Crowdsourcing Development

We have been recently trying to find inventive ways to use location-based applications for our clients. One such program we have been working with is Foursquare. With such new products, we always find ourselves wanting more. We found out we are not the only ones. Foursquare has taken advantage of the fact of knowing they have an imperfect product. They began partnering with Get Satisfaction to create a page that allows users to submit product ideas. Foursquare then goes in and drops the suggestions into categories: Under Consideration, Planned, Completed, and Not Planned. Who needs a R&D team anymore? Foursquare is just sitting back and letting the masses tell them what code to write. We are hoping our idea for a “BS” flag comes under consideration. There is no way someone living in NYC is the mayor of our favorite drinking hole.
